Why NoMa exists

My own feeding journey changed the direction of my career.

Both of my babies spent time in the NICU and were born weighing under five pounds. Our feeding journey included around-the-clock pumping, triple feeding, supplementation with a Supplemental Nursing System, frequent weight checks, and the uncertainty that can come with wondering whether your baby is getting enough.

During one NICU stay, I watched another mother trying to breastfeed her baby. I could see that a few small adjustments in positioning might have made feeding easier, and I wanted to help—but at that moment I was simply another NICU mom. On the drive home, I asked my husband what I would need to do to be able to support families like hers.

That question became the beginning of NoMa. Today, I bring together my background as a Physician Assistant, specialized breastfeeding education, and my own experience as a mother to help families navigate feeding with greater confidence.

How I approach care

Support should be useful in your actual life.

There is no single feeding plan that works for every family. The goal is to understand your priorities, explain your options clearly, and build a realistic path forward together.

01

Start with your goals

Your plan should reflect what matters to you—not someone else’s definition of success.

02

Make the evidence practical

Clinical information is most useful when it becomes clear, actionable guidance you can apply at home.

03

Leave room for real life

Work, sleep, recovery, family dynamics, pumping logistics, and changing goals all belong in the plan.
